B&M passenger trains from Boston through Crawford Notch had to change crews at Intervale. A Maine Central crew took the train through to Fabyan while the B&M crew laid over in a caboose that sat on a siding at Intervale. Later in the day, the MeC crew handed the train back to the B&M crew for the return trip to Boston.
