Crawford Notch Station

Back to track plan

The Crawford Notch Station stands at the top of the notch. Here, the pushers and helpers uncoupled before returning light to Bartlett. The station was also the scene of extensive passenger service for the guests at the nearby Crawford House, a large hotel and resort. The station is usually referred to as Crawfords.

The Crawford House hotel burned to the ground in the 1980's but the station is still is standing and is maintained in excellent condition by its present owners, the Appalachian Mountain Club. A notable feature of the station is the colored etched glass designs in the upper panes of the station windows, shown here..

An HO scale model of Crawford Notch Station is avalable from Crow River.
